What is the waiting period for SSDI benefits?
If a person is accepted into the Social Security Disability Insurance program, they may need to wait up to five months to receive benefits. However, this mandatory waiting period is calculated from the onset of the disability. As a result, a person who has already been made to wait by the Social Security Administration’s claims process may have already completed their waiting period before being accepted into the program. For more information regarding these programs and how we may be able to help you file for benefits, contact an Indianapolis Social Security disability attorney of the Hankey Law Office, P.C.
