NFL coaches, employees file for workers’ compensation and disability

After the news about National Football League analyst Deion Sanders, who filed a workers’ compensation claim for head injuries in 2010, broke out, records revealed that more than 43 employees proceeded to do the same in the last six years.

The employees seeking compensation include previous NFL players now working as assistant coaches and front office personnel, as well as at least six NFL network television analysts. More than 90% of the claims involve serious brain and head injuries.

The claims were made against the players’ individual teams at the time.

Sanders’ pending claim alleges his disability developed following a head trauma and other injuries when he was still a player in the league.
