Repetitive Motion Injury

Any job brings with it certain motions that will be used often. These can be very different from job to job. For instance, working in a warehouse may involve a lot of lifting and bending. Working a desk job generally involves a great deal of typing.

There are a lot of different types of jobs out there, and each of them requires something different in their day to day work. Unfortunately, some of these repetitive motions can lead to injury. For the warehouse worker above, for instance, back injury is one of the leading repetitive motion injuries.

Heavy lifting, however, is not the only thing that can cause injury. Doing any motion for extended periods, without being able to stretch or use different muscle groups, can easily lead to injury. This is not limited to any particular occupation or group of people. Even people who sit and type all day are susceptible to injury. Secretaries, for instance, can get carpel tunnel syndrome from repetitive motion.

When your job causes an injury, your employer has an obligation to you. You should be eligible for worker’s compensation in a situation like this. However, there are some employers who will do anything to keep from paying you what you are due. For this reason, it is a very good idea to have an experienced attorney on your side to help you through this difficult time.
